A hand to hold
This was Paw's spot. The creek at Normandy. The witch's castle eerily looming behind you but far enough away that you forgot about any fears that were in your mind just minutes ago. The creek held endless possibilities....rocks to throw...dinosaur teeth to search for...large rocks to rearrange into a much better dam than the kid before. Paw was always there. Enjoying your enjoyment. Pointing out...well anything. We wouldn't stay long...of course...just enough that we'd end up a bit wet and with a fossil in our pocket.
This was Cayden's first time in boots...which he wasn't so sure about. They weighed too much for his taste and he let us know by frowning and refusing to walk. Actually the stillness was a nice change. He warmed up a bit to them when we put him in the creek. He found his shadow and kept waving to himself! He tossed a rock or two and loved the splash. He didn't venture far (remember the ever heavy boots). I'm thinking next spring he won't be so timid. And I'll remember his baby ways.
Paw wasn't there to enjoy this new one playing in his creek. He would have loved introducing Cayden to a new part of his world. Maybe Paw and God were looking down seeing that Meem was right there carrying on the sweet tradition of fossil hunt'n.

Smoke'n as a Family!
Campfires with my family are the frosting in my life. This night was a Sunday where nothing was planned...a vary rare thing. Jay mowed the front part of the yard then hopped in his truck with Adam to get hot dogs for dinner from the drugstore. We said we should do this every night! (And who the heck needs a camper?)
I love my husband!
And my baby! Yes, you're a wiggle worm but a marsh mellow or three will keep you happy! He left the crackers which stuck to the back of his lower pant leg for the rest of the evening. With number 6 I leave things like that...I realize they're too cute to fix! I've also learned that every campfire means an extra load of laundry with smelly smoke and sticky mellow....but it's my favorite load to do!

My Colorado gift
Something about these trees just do something to me. I love a lot of nature but pictures of the aspens are my favorite. I think they remind me of birch trees which hold childhood memories of Wisconsin. Hannah so wonderfully took these pictures for her momma.

Garden Fun!
I love that my new freshman came to help me with my crew and with taking some great pics! |
Sweet mama and her babies! |
Precious Gianna! (pic by Nate) |
I had to run around the garden to see the front of my littlest boy's face! Phew he is hard to get. He does love a good time with his big brother! |
The big girls swirled and twirled around the gardens. Mia calls Johannah her, "girlfriend!" Little G keeps up and is part of the fun...as the cute baby! |
Ok. Let's take this pic and get on with some play'n Mom! |
